RIOS Radio Interoperability Systems
RIOS radio interoperability systems combine radios, phones, computers, VoIP and video assets within an all-in-one interface designed for interoperable group communications. With RIOS, traditionally non-compatible resources are brought together with hardware and software engineered to bridge the gap in modern communications.
SyTech RIOS Radio Interoperability Gateways, RIOS Client Software, and RIOS LiTE Smartphone Application.
RIOS is able to cross-band all types of HF/VHF/UHF and 700/800 MHz radios using the radio gateway methodology. Simply connect one in-network device to the RIOS radio gateway and the permissioned user is able to access the encompassing radio network. Connect multiple devices for seamless communication across all radio frequencies.
Advantages of Implementing a RIOS Radio Interoperability System
• Create a dedicated access point for mutual aid frequencies.
• Enable mutual aid with local and non-jurisdictional agencies.
• Provide for extra eyes and ears on critical zones and frequencies with RIOS Client Workstations.
• Increase range and functionality with the RIOS LiTE smartphone application.
• Extend access to individuals with RIOS Client Workstations.
• Reduce cost by eliminating radio system consoles in place of RIOS Client Workstations.
• Expand the radio footprint with the RIOS Widearea Networks.
Choosing the Right Configuration
Today’s radio interoperability systems must extend beyond the basic patching gateway. For this reason, SyTech created an adaptable, end-to-end interoperability product line that focuses on the system as a whole. SyTech works with your organization to design, deliver and support the complete radio interoperability system that meets and exceeds your unique communication requirements.
Radio interoperability requirements tend to appear in three distinct categories:
-
Tactical: Requirements involve the portability, flexibility, and unique power requirements of the ad-hoc environment.
-
Mobile Command: Requirements involve the connectivity of vehicular resources. These resources can include portable radios, mobile radios, repeaters, computers and video systems.
-
Fixed-Site Systems: Requirements involve radio interface techniques to consolette radios and trunked radios systems. Considerations of networking capability and smartphone access are of value.
