Video & LANS

OVERVIEW: SyTech personnel are qualified to perform installations of complex systems aboard US Navy ships in accordance with all military standards and specifications, including certified welding, foundation fabrication, cabling and connection. All approval authorizations are obtained for installations. Current efforts are centered on the Circuit 27TV Integrated Radio Frequency Distribution System (IRFDS), which integrates all shipboard unclassified video onto one distribution medium. SyTech Installations allow sailors at sea to view CNN, ESPN and other video feeds. This is accomplished through the high bandwidth capabilities of the latest cable TV technology.

DESCRIPTION
Circuit 27TV uses industry standard RF equipment to transmit television signals from the television head end, satellite dishes, remote live broadcasts, and ship-wide surveillance /security cameras, which are viewed on all shipboard televisions. The system consists of a head end, ship-wide cables, amplifiers, taps, and outlets to service all compartments. The main trunk distribution is designed and installed to service all areas of the ship. Each outlet can be used to connect a television for viewing purposes and/or a camera for surveillance or to provide live broadcasting of ship activities. Once installed, additional televisions or cameras may be easily added to the system to expand shipboard surveillance. The system includes enough spare capacity to add future video sources and viewing stations. Circuit 27TV uses two-way 750MHz transmission lines and is FCC and MIL-STD compliant.

SyTech's Quality Management System follows ISO 9001:2000 guidelines, and has been approved by NAVSEA. We are authorized to act as Prime Contractor allowing us to install systems onboard U.S. Navy ships located at Government and commercial shipyards.

OTHER CAPABILITIES SUPPORTED:
Circuit 27TV once installed, provides high bandwidth communications capable of transmitting teleconferencing, telemedicine, tele-training, computer networking and Internet access at 128kbs. The network is expandable as future requirements develop, providing networking capability well into the future. Cable TV industry research and development is introducing new technologies and capabilities that operate over high bandwidth distribution systems including voice and data communications.

ADDITIONAL VIDEO SUPPORT :
AFN Satellite Uplink Facility - SyTech operates the Television Direct to Sailor (TV DTS) satellite uplink facility at the American Forces Radio and Television Service Broadcast Center at March Air Reserve Base. TV DTS provides two television channels, three audio channels and a data channel for text files, and when up linked, can be received by US Navy ships while at sea. This provides valuable Quality of Life improvements for sailors at sea because they see live television broadcasts as though they were at home. Programs are first collected from the various live inputs from ABC, CBS, CNN, ESPN, FOX, NBC, and PBS. These programs are then up linked from the Broadcast Center to a series of satellites and delivered worldwide via a secure transmission path using MPEG-2 digital compression technology. The primary television service is known as AFN, the American Forces Network. AFN features the best of American television. Additional television programming is available on the "NewSports" and "Spectrum" services. NewSports is an alternative channel and provides a combination of timely news, sports and information programming. SyTech’s efforts include program scheduling (traffic and continuity), doing live spot insertion, off-lining and archiving satellite programming, and board operation. SyTech uses state-of-the-art television production equipment including digital video servers and production switchers.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY IMPROVEMENTS - SyTech is designing a new fiber optics system for the main trunk cable plant of aircraft carriers. Additionally, higher bandwidths, up to 1000 MHz will be incorporated.

Intelligence Collection Satellite UP & Down Link Facility: SyTech operates a full transmit and receive Ku Band earth station. This satellite earth station provides full support for the collection of electronic intelligence for US Law Enforcement and national intelligence agencies.
